At The Three Magazine, many of our articles use the terms woman/women and man/men.
We would like to explicitly state that we are a trans and non-binary inclusive publication. When we use the word women this always includes trans women.
It’s sad that we have to state this but the UK (and elsewhere)—particularly a great deal of UK ‘feminism’—remains incredibly transphobic. Sometimes we use the terms presents as female or female presenting which are intended to include non-binary people, as well as recognise that people don’t always present in a way that reflects their gender—because what does it mean to look like a woman anyway?
Language changes and evolves. Whilst we seek to try and use the most inclusive terms possible, please get in touch if you feel we have gotten something wrong.
